I ran a half marathon and survived

I finally ran my first half marathon, a goal that has been on my list since I started this blog a couple years ago (in fact, it was mentioned in my very first post). It was such a great feeling to cross the finish line with my friend and running partner, Tami! Even though I've been running for several years, I've struggled with calling myself a "runner". Well, after training for and completing a half marathon, I can finally say with confidence that I am a runner.

Community Garden

This is my second year gardening with The Peterson Garden Project. The Peterson Garden Project is a wonderful organization that encourages people to get involved in their community by learning to grow their own food. They currently have five community gardens on the north side of Chicago. Last year was a tough year for gardening with high temps and a lack of rain so we're looking forward to a better yield this year. We're off to a good start!
